Resident complaint about a food truck prompts city enforcement; vendor left after orders

During audience communication, resident Dan Niger told council a food stand operating near 164th and Boff Leppard Highway had been active for some time and asked the city to require licensing and safety oversight. Niger said he had emailed the mayor and city manager and that he was concerned about food‑safety and fire‑safety oversight.
Deputy City Manager Laurel Brock reported staff followed up: staff contacted the operator, confirmed the vendor did not have a city business license and was operating in the public right‑of‑way, and issued two regulatory orders requiring cessation of activity in city limits. Brock said the stand packed up and staff had not observed it return. She advised residents to call police after hours if they see the vendor operating.
City Manager Martin Yamamoto and councilmembers thanked the resident for raising the issue and said staff would monitor for recurrence and circle back to the resident with further information.
