Bennington Public Schools board adopts 2026–31 strategic plan focusing on growth, instruction and staff

The Bennington Public Schools board voted to adopt a new strategic plan covering roughly 2026–31 after several months of stakeholder engagement facilitated by Korka Communications.
Administrators said the planning process included surveys and focus groups of staff, students, parents and community members and that themes were consistent across stakeholder groups. The plan sets three overarching priorities: planning proactively for growth while fostering community pride; ensuring access to effective instructional systems and expanded opportunities (including career pathways); and building a skilled, engaged workforce with an emphasis on professional development.
If approved, the plan will act as the district’s strategic foundation, with action teams formed in the winter to translate goals into implementation steps, metrics and timelines. The board approved implementation to begin in the 2026–27 school year and asked for periodic progress reports to the board during the implementation phase.
