Planning commission re-elects leadership and adopts public-comment card process

During miscellaneous business, City staff reminded commissioners that, as a governing body under Century Code, the commission must provide an opportunity for public comment but that comments must pertain to matters over which the commission has authority (for example, subdivision plats, variances and conditional use permits). Staff said the commission will adopt the same public-comment cards used by the city clerk at City Council meetings and that "Hannah will act as the clerk of the planning commission for this item," adding that speakers must submit in writing their request to speak and the topic they wish to address.
The chair opened a public-comment period later in the meeting; no members of the public spoke and the chair closed public comment before adjourning.
