Nadia Gill, host of the Long Beach Brief, said the 2026 homeless point-in-time count will take place on Jan. 22 and the city is seeking volunteers to help with the effort.

Gill said volunteers must be 18 or older, commit to a four-hour shift and attend an orientation before participating. She directed prospective volunteers to the Long Beach health department for sign-up and additional instructions.

The bulletin did not specify volunteer roles, training content, the number of volunteers sought, or any compensation.
