Driggs retains chair, Schmunk to continue as vice chair; commission assigns liaison roles

The Springfield Planning Commission confirmed its leadership slate by consensus: Chair Driggs will continue as chair and Vice Chair Schmunk will continue as vice chair. The commission also assigned liaison roles: Commissioner Gomez Hernandez will serve as the council liaison; Chair Driggs will continue as the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee liaison; and Commissioner Greenwell will continue as the Community Development Advisory Committee liaison.

Chair Driggs described the council-liaison role as flexible and said the position has not traditionally been demanding but can be adapted based on the commission’s preferences. Commissioners discussed what materials are most useful (memos, appendices) and agreed to a consensus vote, which was recorded by roll call as support for the proposed slate.

Members were asked to note the next commission meeting on Feb. 18 and the chair adjourned the regular meeting.
