The Village of Hartland board approved routine finance items including a contractor payment to Globe Contractors Inc. and the month’s vouchers.
Staff presented contractor application for payment No. 3 for the Progress Drive sanitary relay project: $15,496.69 payable to Globe Contractors Inc., with a retainage balance of $22,006.73 to be held and paid after one year if the work is complete and satisfactory. A trustee asked clarifying questions about the project’s TIF funding structure; staff said the TIF will recoup the upfront funds and that the retainage is normal practice.
The board also considered checks, wires and credit-card vouchers totaling $800,686.13. A trustee questioned a line item shown as $28.55 for the humane society impound services; staff reviewed the voucher and indicated the amount paid was $26 on their records. After questions were answered, the board approved the vouchers by voice vote.
Both items passed by voice vote. Staff noted that the retainage on the Globe payment will be released only after the one-year hold and satisfactory completion.
