Hours of operation would be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends; classes would be staggered by 45 minutes to reduce congestion. Staff recommended approval with conditions that include requiring parents to park in designated downtown parking and prohibiting curbside loading.
Mark Ignatius, the owner, described the KidStrong program as "milestone driven" and "family oriented," saying the business is science-based and well-suited to the downtown Centerville community. Staff reported no identified environmental impacts and concluded the proposed use is consistent with the city's general plan and the downtown specific plan; Klein approved the permit with the recommended findings and conditions.
The approval resolves planning permit PLNG-202506160 for the tenant suite at Solstice Mixed-Use Development (APN 202-07-027). No members of the public spoke on the item during the hearing; the zone administrator's decision is subject to any appeal rights noted in the administrative code.
