Crescent City — The City Council on Oct. 6 authorized the city manager to accept a $76,000 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to update the Del Norte County regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) that covered 2019–2024.
City staff said the award will fund consulting services and economic‑analysis software; the grant requires a 30% match (roughly $34,000) that the city, county and harbor intend to supply in part through in‑kind staff time and minor cash contributions. Staff expects to prepare an RFP for a consultant once federal processes resume and to coordinate the update with county and harbor partners.
Council members praised Bridget Lacy and city staff for securing the award and noted the potential for regional planning to unlock further economic-development funding. Council approved a resolution (2025‑46) amending the FY2025–26 budget to accept the grant and authorized the city manager to execute the agreement.
