Westlake approves switch from Naviance to School Links for college and career planning

Dr. Goggin, the district superintendent, recommended Jan. 12 that Westlake phase out Naviance and adopt School Links as the district’s college- and career-planning platform. The board approved the superintendent’s recommendation by roll call.
Dr. Goggin said the district is beginning the transition in spring so the new platform is operational before next fall’s admissions cycle and that current seniors will continue using Naviance for this academic year. He noted the change aims to give students and counselors time to adjust before early-admission deadlines.
The board took the motion and recorded an affirmative roll call. No substantive objections were raised during discussion.
