Leaders recognized Clinton Fire Department C Shift for a Dec. 22, 2025 response to a cardiac arrest at Sessoms Jewelry, noting the quick arrival (about four minutes), bystander CPR and an AED shock before EMS arrival. The council reported the patient (identified in remarks as a lifelong Clinton resident, named in comment) had contacted officials from his hospital bed to thank responders.
On the consent and administrative side, council approved Budget Amendment No. 6 to adjust the general fund and water/sewer fund for recent pay-plan impacts primarily affecting public works. Council also appointed members to the All American City Committee and an auxiliary committee, reappointed cemetery-committee members (Anthony Worley and Nick West) and nominated Horace Bass to fill District 2 on the planning board. JP reported staff would work to schedule district meetings historically held in March and April.
