The Royal Oak City Commission voted on Dec. 8 to end the employment agreement between the city and the city manager identified in the transcript as Gaucho, and named interim leadership to fill the roles.
"I move pursuant to paragraph 12(a) of the employment agreement between the city and city manager Gaucho to end the agreement and employment," Commissioner Herzog said. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hunt and passed by voice vote.
Following that motion the commission appointed Nicholas Gerstout Gorchowski as interim city manager and Michael Moore as interim deputy city manager. The motion to appoint Gorchowski was made from the dais and seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. The motion to appoint Moore as interim deputy was seconded by Commissioner Chisholm and also passed by voice vote.
Minutes and the meeting transcript record the votes as voice votes with "aye" responses and no roll-call tallies recorded. The mayor closed that portion of the meeting and the commission moved on to the consent agenda.
