The Fluvanna County school board amended and approved its regular meeting calendar and added budget events after discussion about conflicts with the Board of Supervisors and the district—udget calendar.
Mister Rittenhouse moved an amendment that, as adopted, rescheduled the February regular meeting from Feb. 11 to Feb. 18 (closed session at 5:30 p.m., open session at 6:30 p.m.), scheduled a budget seminar/public hearing for Feb. 4 (presentation at 5:30, public hearing at 6:30), moved the November meeting off Veterans Day to either Nov. 10 (final language adopted) and set a school board retreat for June 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The amendment was seconded, discussed and approved by voice vote.
Separately, the board adopted a motion to add a superintendent budget presentation and a budget public hearing on Feb. 4; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members discussed logistics required by law for a budget public hearing (a seven‑day separation between a hearing and approval) and considered quorum and remote‑participation constraints when choosing dates. The appointments and calendar changes will be reflected in the revised meeting calendar and in the district—udget work sessions.
