HMS said its RAC website will be pared down during an early-2026 redesign; department staff said automated audits are under way and complex audits (DRGs first) will be rolled out slowly with small claim sets and rebilling safeguards, with more steady activity expected mid to late January.
Chantelle (HMS website lead) told the advisory board the HMS Colorado RAC website will be redesigned for better provider usability and accessibility; during the update the site will temporarily show limited content but will retain essential resources such as the HMS provider portal link and contact references. "Our new website should roll out early 2026," she said.
Department staff reminded providers to update contact information in both the HMS provider portal and the interchange so audit notices reach appropriate teams. Stephanie Denning said automated audits have already started and that complex audits — beginning with DRGs — will be launched slowly with very small claim samples so staff can conduct exit conferences and informal reconsideration steps when appropriate. Staff projected that mid to late January providers should begin to see more steady activity as processes are refined.
Staff encouraged providers to volunteer as pilot participants for rebilling testing and to share experiences on rebilling glitches so the department can fix operational issues before wider rollout.
Next steps: providers were asked to sign up for the stakeholder contact list, keep portal contact info current and volunteer for pilot rebilling tests.
