NVTA approves audit, strategic plan and several consent actions; votes at a glance

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority completed a series of routine but consequential votes at its Nov. 13 meeting.
Audit acceptance: The authority accepted the FY2025 audited financial and compliance reports after auditors reported an unmodified (clean) opinion and no internal control findings. The motion passed unanimously.
Strategic plan adoption: Members adopted the authority’s full 2025 strategic plan (vision, mission, values and four strategic goals) with a small wording insertion to emphasize leadership and collaboration in Goal 1. The motion passed unanimously.
Concession‑fee allocation: The authority recommended that additional concession‑fee funding (66 outside the Beltway funds) be allocated to the City of Fairfax for the George Snyder Trail in the amount of $4,600,000; that recommendation will go to the Commonwealth Transportation Board and passed NVTA unanimously.
Minutes and schedule: The authority approved the Oct. 9, 2025 minutes; two abstentions were recorded on that motion. Members also approved the calendar of NVTA meetings for 2026 (second Thursday monthly at 7 p.m.) by unanimous vote.
Roll and procedural notes: The chair confirmed a quorum was achieved before action items and reminded members staff will accompany delegation briefings as needed. No items were tabled or postponed to a future meeting.
