The Oakland County Land Bank Authority presented its annual report and asked the committee to receive and file the report. Jill Robinson, director of the Land Bank (housed in the treasurer's office), outlined the Authority’s acquisitions and work over the past year and described several active projects and funding efforts.
Robinson said the Authority accepted nearly 100 properties from the State Land Bank into its inventory, with a majority located in the city of Pontiac. She highlighted Casa Del Rey, a 51‑unit historically designated renovation project that is about 65% complete and expected to start renting in the second quarter of the year. Robinson said the land bank used ARPA‑funded competitive blight‑elimination grants to stabilize and sell two historic houses and received a $415,000 blight‑elimination award to remove the old Weber School in northern Pontiac (abatement and demolition expected by end of summer).
Robinson described a new GIS mapping tool — funded in part by a local funder collaborative — that compiles county, city and privately owned parcels with nearby amenities to help assemble larger development sites. She also outlined funding streams (the Land Bank retains 50% of taxes on sold properties over five years) and legislative work underway to connect funding to the tax‑foreclosure process.
Commissioners praised the Authority’s progress. The committee voted to receive and file the annual report (committee tally recorded as 5 yeas, 0 nays). Robinson said staff will continue engagement with community partners and developers to advance projects and prepare RFPs for neighborhood input on large school-site parcels.
