The events, described by Chong as longstanding community cultural celebrations, will include performances and vendor booths. Chong said the Lunar New Year celebration has been running for decades and the August Moon Festival is likewise a recurring summer street festival.
A board member moved to approve the request, a second was recorded, and the motion passed by voice vote. The board did not record individual roll-call votes in the transcript.
