Pembroke Pines commission adopts resolution updating community shuttle operations

The Pembroke Pines City Commission on Jan. 7 unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-R-47, approving updates to the city's 2025—2028 community shuttle operations plan and directing city officials to take any actions necessary to implement the program under Federal Transit Administration requirements.

City Attorney Goren introduced the resolution on the floor, saying, “It is proposed resolution number 20 25 r 47, which is a resolution of the city commission of the City of Pembroke Pines, Florida approving updates to the 2025 through 2028 City of Pembroke Pines community shuttle operations plan pursuant to Federal Transit Administration requirements, directing the appropriate city officials to take any and all action necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.”

Vice Mayor Hernandez moved the resolution and Commissioner Good seconded; with no public comment or further discussion the commission voted in favor and the motion passed unanimously. The clerk confirmed a quorum at the meeting.

The resolution's backup materials (as announced in the meeting) describe updates to the city's shuttle operations for the 2025—2028 period and include implementation direction to city officials. City staff indicated the changes are intended to align local shuttle services with Federal Transit Administration rules and to formalize administrative steps needed for program operation.

The commission took no separate vote to modify the resolution during the meeting; the action was recorded as passed. The city said it will proceed with the measures in the resolution and the city attorney recorded the item for the minutes.
