Board discussion landed on a simpler in-county structure with many trips priced at $3. “And everything's $3,” one staff speaker said as the board consolidated the options. Commissioners also discussed out-of-county fares; staff commented that a round trip to Richmond County was currently priced around $18 and that other out-of-county trips could be priced separately.
Commissioner Bridal moved to accept the ADA corrections and the new fare schedule discussed on the record; Commissioner Kelly seconded the motion and the board voted to adopt the changes. Staff noted that much of transit’s operating and capital support comes through state and federal programs and that farebox revenue covers a small portion of operating costs.
What happens next: staff will update fare tables and the ADA policy in service documents and distribute materials to drivers and riders. The county will also finalize any contract and reporting changes required by Georgia DOT.
