The maintenance director said they are consulting Auto Junction for replacement pricing and considering a 2,500‑series pickup with plow and a utility van to tow athletic trailers safely.
Staff raised custodial and maintenance staffing concerns tied to expanding educational space at Riverview, the CTE and Buckeye: they recommended adding a midday custodian at Riverview, hiring a fourth night custodian systemwide, and adding at least one additional maintenance worker to cover the enlarged footprint. The committee asked staff to prepare an overview of current staffing by building, shift and assignment to present at a future meeting.
Members also discussed redesign ideas for the lecture hall (removing fixed seats, leveling the floor, adding flexible furniture) and possible partnership with Auburn students and the district construction class to provide real‑world project experience while reducing costs. The committee asked staff to obtain drawings and cost estimates for preferred options and to ensure ADA egress and code compliance in any redesign.
The meeting concluded with agreement to fold facilities planning into the committee's near‑term work plan and to prepare options for board review.
