The Coral Springs City Commission on Jan. 7 approved a request from parks/facilities staff to increase the purchasing threshold for Musco sports lighting equipment and services.
Parks staff explained the change is intended to streamline procurement as the city converts several field lighting systems from halide to LED. Commissioners supported the concept and asked staff to invite Musco representatives to a future meeting so commissioners could meet company leadership. Commissioner Simmons moved to approve the threshold increase, Commissioner McHugh seconded, and the commission voted unanimously.
Staff said the threshold change does not select specific products or commit funding beyond existing project budgets; it simply allows staff to purchase equipment within the higher threshold without returning to the commission for each individual purchase.
