Citizens advisory panel reports suspension of Lights On program; police roll out AI tool and accept electric motorcycle

Officer Yee reported to the Tiburon Diversity Inclusion Task Force that several citizens advisory panel initiatives and police department wellbeing tools are in transition.
On the Lights On program, Officer Yee said, "the program, we were notified it's been suspended, due to a organizational, change, and we are waiting to hear back from them on that." She described the suspension as administrative and said the department is awaiting further information from program administrators.
Officer Yee also described new tools intended to support officers: "For Blue Voice, the police department is currently using a new application. It's an AI based application, but it, can be used to search policies, state laws, and MOUs." She said the application is another tool for officers to reference policy and legal guidance.
The department is also evaluating Peer Connect, which Officer Yee described as "a first responder application, that a member can use, when they need any professional services such as counseling, and that's something that they can do either on duty or off." That app is under consideration, not yet adopted.
Finally, Officer Yee reported the department "recently accepted delivery of an electric motorcycle fully outfitted, and our officers [are] attending training, before he is deployed, patrol with it." The motorcycle has been received and training is underway before deployment.
There were no questions recorded that changed policy or produced a formal vote. Committee members praised efforts to support officer wellbeing and the committee closed the DITF meeting.
