Churchill County School Board re-elects Gregg Malkovich as president, fills officers and committees

The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees unanimously re-elected Gregg Malkovich as board president and confirmed other officer and committee appointments at its regularly scheduled meeting. Trustees cited continuity as important while the district transitions to a new superintendent.

Trustee (nominator) put forward Gregg Malkovich for president; after brief discussion invoking leadership continuity during the superintendent transition, the board voted unanimously in favor. The board then considered vice‑president nominations; candidates Wendy Bullock and Joe McFadden each addressed trustees and the board confirmed Joe McFadden as vice president by board procedure. Trustees also confirmed Wendy Bullock as clerk and named Garell Getch acting clerk.

Board members kept most committee assignments unchanged: ASB director and alternate assignments, NASB legislative committee members, budget advisory and audit committee make‑ups were maintained with trustees volunteering to continue in their roles. Trustees said keeping experienced members on key committees would help the district through the superintendent search and onboarding period.

The board moved quickly through these appointments to focus on the rest of the agenda, saying the selections would support continuity while the district completes the superintendent recruitment process.
