Anderson City Council reappointed municipal election commission members whose terms had expired so they can continue certifying municipal ballots and assisting coordination with Anderson County election staff.
City attorney Frankie McClain reviewed the commission’s role and identified three commission members; two — David Ford and Renee Phil York — had expired terms and were recommended for reappointment. A councilor moved to reappoint the members, the motion was seconded and the council approved the reappointments by voice vote.
Councilors thanked the commissioners for their service and noted the commission’s work in close or contested races where full ballot counts were necessary.
