Anderson City Council unanimously approved an updated Title VI transit plan for 2025–2028 to meet Federal Transit Administration and South Carolina Department of Transportation compliance requirements.
Transportation manager Keith Moody told council the update refines public‑notice procedures, the limited‑English‑proficiency plan, service standards and public‑participation protocols required during the FTA triennial review. Staff emphasized the policy ensures vehicles and equipment can be flexibly assigned across routes and that the public‑participation plan be accessible to all communities.
Councilors asked whether the Title VI update identifies locations for new bus shelters or budgets for shelters; staff clarified that the Title VI update is a compliance and policy document and does not itself select shelter locations or set long‑range capital budgets, though it links to equity priorities and future planning efforts.
A motion to adopt the 2025–2028 Title VI plan was made, seconded and passed unanimously.
