Coventry — The Coventry Town Council announced the selection of David Igliozzi as the town’s new solicitor during its Jan. 13 meeting after deliberations held in executive session.
The president announced that, following executive session pursuant to Rhode Island General Law §42‑46‑5(a)(2) for litigation and personnel matters, the council selected David Igliozzi for the solicitor position and later confirmed the appointment in open session. "We have, selected a new solicitor, mister David Igliozzi. So congratulations," the president said during the meeting.
The appointment was handled largely in executive session with public confirmation; council procedures then moved the matter onto the open agenda for a formal acknowledgment and administrative housekeeping.
Igliozzi was present and acknowledged the selection. The council will complete any standard onboarding steps and public‑records formalities associated with the appointment.
