The Arkansas City Commission reorganized its leadership and appointments at an organizational meeting where members installed Vice Mayor Stover as mayor and named Steve Lundgren vice mayor.
Commissioners then confirmed a slate of governing-body representatives to local and regional boards, including Charles Tweedy as the city’s representative to the Arc City Public Library Board of Trustees and Ted Neeson as the representative to the Cherokee Strip Landrush Museum Board of Trustees. The commission also designated a voting member to the Regional Economic Area Partnership of South Central Kansas and named a city representative to the South Central Kansas Medical Center Board of Trustees.
By voice vote commissioners approved nominees for the Strava Field Commission and the Visit Our City board of trustees, and they designated RCB Bank as the city’s primary depository for municipal funds.
Mayor Stover presided over the organizational business immediately after newly elected commissioners David Calhoun, Steve Walgren and Charles Tweedy took the oath of office. The reorganization was completed by a series of motions and voice votes; no roll-call dissents were recorded in the transcript.
The meeting closed the organizational agenda with customary recognition for outgoing members Jay Warren and Diana Spielman, who were presented plaques and thanked for their service.
