Planning board recommends rezoning permitting broader housing types in northwestern county parcel

Staff said the parcel (tax PIN 790900067969) is in the O2 land class and characterized as a low-density single-family growth area. Board members asked whether moving from RP to RA would permit manufactured housing; staff said RA permits a broader set of housing types — including single-wide, double-wide and modular manufactured homes — whereas RP restricts manufactured homes.
No members of the public spoke on the item. A motion to recommend approval based on the packet’s consistency and reasonableness statements was made and carried. The recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners, which will take the final vote at its February meeting.
Board members noted that site plans and technical review will apply to any future development.
