The Lake Central School Corporation held a work session to review a packet of proposed board policy revisions affecting employment practices, staff evaluations, executive sessions and transportation safety.
In discussing policy 3120 (employment of professional staff), the presenter said relatives may be employed by the corporation but may not directly report to a family member; the district has in the past transferred one of a pair after a relationship developed post-hire “to avoid that conflict,” the presenter said. The packet also preserves language that allows the district to finalize a professional hire prior to formal board approval when necessary to maintain program continuity.
