She said the museum recorded 783 paid visitors and 957 names in the guest book during the quarter, with visitors from 34 states and Puerto Rico and international guests from England, Switzerland, Scotland, Canada, Germany, the Philippines, Sweden and the Netherlands. The museum reported that visitors accounted for 47 hotel room nights in local hotels including Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn and Best Western. Susan outlined recent programs and noted partnerships with local schools and a public history class at East Texas A and M University that resulted in a temporary exhibit currently on display.
Susan invited the commissioners to the museum’s annual reception on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and answered follow-up questions from commissioners; the court approved acceptance of the quarterly report by motion.
