The Kansas City, Kansas Planning Commission approved a series of special-use permits, a vacation of utility easements and a resolution on short-term rental procedures at its Jan. 12 meeting. The bulk of the items — including multiple short-term rental permits, a commercial truck-driving school renewal and several other special-use requests — will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for final consideration on Jan. 29.
Chair Jeff Carson opened the meeting and noted that items receiving unanimous recommendations would appear on the board’s consent agenda. "If your item was on the consent agenda, you're free to go unless you want to stay and listen to us tonight," Carson said, introducing the evening's business. Planning staff presented the department’s recommendations and summarized conditions for approval on each case.
