At its Jan. 12 meeting the Zephyrhills City Council approved multiple procedural and contract items by voice vote.
- Consent agenda: Council approved a 12-item consent agenda without pulls; motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
- Item 3.1 — Temporary license agreement with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (Swiftmud): Council approved a temporary license (No. 55202601) permitting Swiftmud to install a groundwater-monitoring well near the police station; the motion carried unanimously.
- Item 4.1 — Annual street resurfacing piggyback agreement: Public Works recommended piggybacking Sumter County’s contract with Asphalt Paving Systems to perform street resurfacing, Depot Park multipurpose trail work (funded from ARPA) and cemetery internal roads (funded from the cemetery maintenance fund). Council approved the piggyback agreement by voice vote, unanimously.
Staff said funds for resurfacing will come from the gas tax, Depot Park work will be paid from ARPA, and cemetery roads will be paid from the cemetery maintenance fund. No individual votes with member roll-call were recorded in the meeting transcript; approvals were by unanimous voice votes.
