St. Cloud honors parks sexton Michael Wager as January employee of the month

City officials said Wager has maintained Mount Peace Cemetery, taken a leading role in planning and building the Trail of Terror, and devised reusable temporary walls that save money and staff time. The presiding official noted Wager’s willingness to teach staff new skills and his habit of arriving early and staying late to complete tasks.
"Please join me in congratulating Mikey," the presiding official said during the presentation. A council member added, "Mike, I'm incredibly proud of you," and described Wager's family history of public service.
Wager’s recognition highlights the department's reliance on experienced facilities staff for year-round events and cemetery maintenance. The council moved on to routine business following the presentation.
