St. Cloud recognizes parks employee Michael Wager as January employee of the month

A parks staff presenter told the council that, "Mikey is our sexton here in Parks and Recreation" and described his role maintaining Mount Peace Cemetery and volunteering substantial time to plan and build the Trail of Terror special event, including devising reusable temporary walls to save money. The presenter noted Mikey’s off-duty work on event design, construction and staff training.
Presiding Officer offered personal congratulations, saying, "Mike, I'm incredibly proud of you, man," and recounted longstanding family ties to public service. The council and staff applauded and moved on to other agenda items.
The recognition highlighted both routine operations (cemetery maintenance) and event-driven innovations that parks staff said saved money and increased efficiency; no formal action or policy change was taken during the presentation.
