Brad Daigle used the Assumption Parish Police Jury meeting’s public-comment period to announce his candidacy for the special election for Louisiana House District 60, scheduled for Feb. 7. He described his local roots, business background, and relationships he said would help secure federal and state funding for parish infrastructure.
"My name is Brad Daigle," he told jurors, and he detailed experience as a self-employed small-business owner and service on regional boards. He said his campaign focus would be on issues he described as shared priorities — drainage and flood mitigation, road and drainage improvements, electric power resilience and continuity for essential facilities, and economic development to attract investment and jobs.
Daigle said he has cultivated relationships with state and federal officials and lobbyists and argued those ties could secure capital outlay and dredging funding the parish may need for long-term drainage and flood mitigation projects. Jurors thanked him and noted they would rely on an incoming representative for help with immediate infrastructure needs.
Daigle invited questions and said he would return to meet again with the jury if elected. He also referenced endorsements he has received from business groups and said his campaign will emphasize practical, bipartisan delivery on infrastructure and public-service priorities.
What’s next: the jury members indicated they would lean on any newly elected representative to help secure project funding; Daigle will appear in the district’s special-election calendar.
