The Andalusia City Council convened at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2026, with the presiding official calling the meeting to order and noting the council had met earlier in a three-hour session with counsel and guests to review an internal planning document for city projects.
Councilman Mount led the council in a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. During the pledge he recited, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Under new business, a council member moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held Dec. 16, 2025. Another council member seconded the motion. After no discussion was offered, the presiding official called for the ayes; the minutes were approved by voice vote with no opposition recorded on the record.
With no unfinished business and no items brought forward by council members, the presiding official declared the meeting adjourned. The council was reminded that regular meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, with workshops beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the third floor and regular meetings starting in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m.
No ordinances, resolutions, appointments, contracts, or other formal actions beyond the approval of minutes were recorded in the public transcript for this session.
