Elyria — During procedural business at its Jan. 13 meeting the Elyria Planning Commission held its annual officer elections and selected Mayor Brubaker as chair and Director Panowski as vice chair. The commission tabled the appointment of secretary until the next meeting.
A point of order raised by Mister Craig reminded the commission that its rules call for officers to be elected at the first meeting of the year; he noted the body could suspend the rules or table the election but that a quorum was present. Mayor Brubaker was nominated and elected after a motion recorded as made by Mister Pranowski and seconded by Derek Tedrow. The vice-chair nomination — Director Panowski, moved by the chair and seconded by Miss Rivera — passed by voice vote.
The chair said he would table secretary nominations until the next meeting. The commission briefly discussed reviewing its rules and regulations for updates. The meeting then concluded after a standard adjournment motion.
