The Hamilton County Airport Board approved an access-control and badging system for exterior doors at TYQ using $24,500 in encumbered funds from the prior fiscal year.

Sam told the board the project will add badges and scanners at doors that lead into controlled areas and that staff expect to have installation completed within a few weeks if the Board approved execution of the project. The project is intended to increase ramp and hangar security in advance of the planned customs facility.

A motion to approve the project was made during the meeting and passed on a roll call. Sam said staff will contact members to issue badges as needed and that installation crews could begin work almost immediately.
