Lake County Council honors Andrean 2A state champions and recognizes DePaul finalist Robbie Ballantyne

Council members read the resolutions into the record and moved both items for adoption. Resolution No. 2602 lauded Andrean’s 13–1 season and a 7–0 championship victory at Lucas Oil Stadium on Nov. 29, 2025 and authorized an official copy of the resolution to be delivered to the team. The resolution was moved, seconded and passed by voice vote.
Members invited players and coaches to the front of the chamber. Assistant coach Pete Monger described the team’s leadership structure — noting seniors serve on a leadership council rather than relying on single captains — and said the team draws students from across the county. The council offered congratulations and presented the resolution to the students and staff.
The council also approved a separate resolution recognizing Robbie Ballantyne, identified in the record as a Crown Point resident and DePaul University senior, for academic and athletic achievements and for being named a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, a national scholar-athlete award. Ballantyne thanked the council and said he was proud to “represent that on the national scale.”
Both measures were approved without recorded roll-call opposition. The council’s actions put formal recognition on the official record and provided copies of both resolutions for delivery to the honorees.
