Nordonia Hills board elects Liz McKinley president, Jason Tidmore vice president in 2026 organizational meeting

The Nordonia Hills City School District Board of Education met Jan. 13, 2026, for its annual organizational session, swore in members and elected officers for the year.

By affirmative roll call, the board appointed Liz McKinley as board president for 2026 and later named Jason Tidmore vice president. The board confirmed a calendar of regular meetings for 2026 (including an April date adjusted for spring break) and approved routine consent items and annual authorizations for the treasurer.

The superintendent reviewed the slate of consent items the board typically renews each year, citing the district’s regular relationships with outside counsel for board matters, bond counsel for fiscal/resolution work and other law firms for assessments and special matters. He described hearing-officer designations for student disciplinary matters and the district’s public-records officer assignment. The board also authorized the treasurer to invest idle funds in STAR Ohio and municipal investment vehicles and to make budget modifications and blanket purchase orders within statutory limits under the Ohio Revised Code.

During the oath of office, Jason Tidmore recited the oath for his seat, saying, “I, Jason Tidmore, do hereby swear ... to perform and discharge the duties of my office as Nordonia Hills City School District Board of Education.” The board then completed roll-call votes to confirm officers and to adjourn the organizational meeting and immediately convene a special/work-session meeting.

The actions taken at the organizational meeting were procedural and annual in nature: officer elections, approval of meeting dates and adoption of standard consent and treasury authorizations. Items flagged for later action at the regular meeting include the posted modification on kindergarten tuition for the 2026–27 school year.

A regular meeting of the board was scheduled to follow at 7 p.m., and the work session moved next into program presentations and the tuition discussion.
