City of Perry council approves consent items, adopts resolutions and introduces surplus‑land ordinance

The City of Perry City Council on Jan. 13 approved the consent agenda and moved forward on several routine actions, including a budget amendment tied to a Duke Energy grant and a temporary construction easement for state bridge work. Council members recorded affirmative votes after motions and seconds on each item.

The council approved the consent agenda, which the clerk read to include Resolution 20 25‑35, Resolution 20 26‑01 and Ordinance No. 10‑58 (introduction). A motion and a second were recorded and council members answered in the affirmative, carrying the consent agenda.

Council then took separate actions on infrastructure and administrative items. The body approved a budget amendment (Resolution 20 25‑35) that adjusts the fiscal‑year budget for FY ending 09/30/2026 to reflect a Duke Energy grant and related structural improvements. The council also approved Resolution 20 26‑01 authorizing a temporary construction easement in favor of the Florida Department of Transportation for planned bridge improvements.

The clerk introduced Ordinance No. 10‑58, the first reading concerning surplus lands and the method for calculating purchase price based on a recent survey; council members recorded that this was the first reading and made the ordinance available for public review and subsequent action at a future meeting.

Other agenda items approved by motion included procedural approvals related to Bishop Boulevard payment authorization and street agreements for Willis Street and Bebop Street repaving. The council approved minutes from the Dec. 9, 2025 regular session.

What happens next: Ordinance No. 10‑58 was introduced on first reading and will return for a second reading and adoption at a later meeting, while the easement and budget changes take effect per standard administrative procedures and applicable procurement and grant rules.
