Winnsboro Jan. 14, 2026 The Winnsboro Main Street board on Thursday announced a new concert series, "Winnsboro Live," and set operational plans for the first show scheduled Feb. 20 at the Winnsboro Civic Center.
Main Street director Carol said the series will include two large shows in 2026 and named Kira (stage name Queen Kiwi) as the opening act and the Dexter Rowe Band as the headliner for Feb. 20. "We have named it Winnsboro Live," Carol said, describing the effort as a way to attract regional visitors and support downtown merchants during a slower quarter.
Ticketing and seating: The board approved a pricing plan Carol presented: online tickets $25, $30 at the door, with 50 tickets reserved for door sales. The organization will sell 14 reserved tables that seat six for $250 each; the table package includes a drink ticket, a small city swag bag and VIP parking.
Vendor logistics and staging: Promotions chair Carla Bradshaw described rental options for bistro and large tables and provided several dance-floor quotes. One vendor from Longview quoted $9 per table and about $1,520 for a 24-by-24 wooden dance floor including a $200 delivery fee; other vendors offered different sizes, color choices and delivery pricing. The committee said it expected to select from the two vendors that could meet the event timing and sizing needs.
Security and public-safety compliance: Carol told the board she had arranged eight law-enforcement officers to staff the event. "City code says where alcohol is present, you must have one police officer for every 50 attendees," she said; with an estimated attendance of 400, the director said the city had secured eight officers from Wood County, Winnsboro and Franklin County.
Restrooms and crowd services: Board members debated restroom capacity and agreed to consider two porta-potties plus a hand-wash station to supplement indoor restrooms. Members cited a planning guideline discussed at the meeting that recommends roughly one toilet per 30 60 attendees as a reference for calculations.
Volunteers and assignments: The board assigned event responsibilities: a board member will coordinate artist green-room needs, members will staff ticketing and scanning at the door, and volunteers will assist with parking and hospitality needs. Jennifer Hudson Connors and other board members agreed to support front-door duties and hosting roles.
Why it matters: Carol said the concert series is intended to grow into a self-sustaining program that boosts downtown retail and dining by bringing visitors to Winnsboro. She pointed to recent social-media performance (reported increases in views and interactions) as evidence the town's profile is expanding and can support ticketed events and regional attendance.
What's next: Main Street staff will finalize vendor contracts, confirm security staffing with the police chief, and circulate a ticketing link and volunteer sign-ups to board members and merchants.
