Scottsburg approves police promotions, new hires and a Mid America Science Park lease; staff addresses broadband billing glitch

The board approved a lease for Stephanie Parker to rent a room at Mid America Science Park effective Jan. 1, 2026; a security deposit was noted.
On utilities, staff described a billing software glitch that caused broadband bills to display a $0 charge for some customers; staff said they identified the issue, reprinted and separately mailed corrected bills and are working with the vendor NISC to complete the mailing. The city also reported a broadband outage over the weekend caused by a broken line that crews repaired within a few hours.
The board concluded with routine claims approval and holiday announcements.
