Hemet officials celebrate 2025 Christmas parade; event drew large crowd, organizers say

City communications and events coordinator Jennifer Cortez presented a recap of Hemet’s 2025 Christmas parade at the Jan. 13 council meeting, noting high community participation and several award winners.
“The Hemet Christmas parade is an annual tradition that ... I believe this last year, we drew over 10,000 spectators,” Cortez said. The parade, held Dec. 6, featured more than 90 entries across eight categories (float, high‑school band, middle‑school band, animal performance, motorized, car club, school marching band/ROTC, and decorated walking unit). Winners included Complex Steel Buildings (best float), West Valley High School (best high‑school band and ROTC), Dartmouth Middle School (best middle school band), White Brook Farm (best animal performance), Imagine Schools Hemet (best motorized unit), Hemet Jeep Club (best car club) and Exceed (best decorated walking unit).
Former Mayor Jackie Peterson, who helped present awards, praised organizers and city staff for their work. Cortez said photos and social media promotion helped highlight entries and the event’s theme, “the great outdoors.”
Council and staff thanked event organizers and invited residents to review event materials and photos on the city website.
