Parks board adopts new turf-field rental rates, adds soccer pricing; rates effective Jan. 1, 2026

The Hendersonville Parks Board voted to adopt updated rental rates for turf fields — including turf soccer, baseball and softball fields — with the new rates scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2026. Staff explained the changes reflect increased demand for turf fields and align with comparable nearby municipalities.

Director Gilley told the board staff compared rates with neighboring cities and added turf soccer fields to the fee schedule. He noted a policy exception: "we're not upping the charge on our local leagues who use these fields," explaining that rates apply primarily to outside groups or tournaments rather than local sanctioned-league play.

Board members asked clarifying questions about when the rates take effect and about flexibility for tournament organizers. Staff confirmed the motion language includes the effective date (01/01/2026) and clarifies that rental fees would apply if unscheduled league activities are rescheduled to the turf fields.

A motion to approve the staff-recommended rental rates was made and seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote. Staff said the updated rates will be posted and applied to rental requests and tournament proposals going forward.
