Lake County commissioners unanimously adopt 2025 supplemental budget transfer

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 2025-39, a supplemental budget measure authorizing transfers of previously appropriated monies between county funds to correct 2025 appropriations.

County manager Candace Bryant explained the purpose of supplementals during the meeting: “The supplemental is essentially anytime that a spending agency ... needs to have money that was not originally given to it, given to it to make sure that it's in balance for the year.” The board did not record any public testimony during the hearing portion and moved quickly to the vote.

The resolution formalizes adjustments staff said are needed to align departmental and fund budgets for the remainder of 2025. Candace identified specific adjustments in her presentation including the rollback of a previously anticipated $950,000 property purchase back to the general fund and cash‑flow fixes for enterprise and renovation funds; transcript wording for some dollar amounts was approximate in the meeting record.

The board’s vote to adopt the resolution was taken by roll call with unanimous “Aye” votes. No dissent or abstentions were recorded. The board directed staff to implement the transfers as described in the resolution and to include those changes in year‑end accounting and audit materials.

The board then proceeded to other agenda items, including executive session and further discussion of the courthouse renovation project.
