Huerfano County commissioners approved a lot consolidation and a road vacation that will combine eight parcels at 244 Meadow Lane into a single parcel to satisfy a lender requirement for an imminent sale.
Staff explained the consolidation (LU‑25‑033) involves eight parcel numbers and will create about 3.84 acres. The planning commission recommended the application on Nov. 13, 2025 with conditions: (1) investigate establishment of a Firewise community in the area and (2) include a deed restriction that the consolidated parcel cannot be subdivided in the future.
Keegan Carrick is the prospective purchaser; Steven Knight is the current owner. Surveyor Susan Altman was present representing the applicant. Commissioners and staff noted the application lacks a finalized legal description for the road to be vacated — South Meadow Trail — and instructed staff and the county attorney to complete that description so it can be included in the final resolution before recording.
A motion to approve the lot consolidation and road vacation with the planning commission’s conditions was moved, seconded and passed by the board.
