Superintendent Dr. Cristioni updated the board on December student events and music concerts, outlined the 2026 budget calendar (budget vote May 19), and gave a capital projects update including early arrival of Univents, unexpected electrical work in the elementary gym, a replaced circulator pump and site borings related to a voter-approved bond.
Dr. Cristioni provided districtwide updates at the board’s December meeting, highlighting recent student activities, music concerts and community service projects and outlining the district’s budget calendar for the 2026 budget process.
He said the district’s clubs and staff organized charitable events such as a turkey trot fundraiser and "Christmas magic" shopping for families in need, and noted that music departments across grade levels held six concerts in the prior two weeks. Dr. Cristioni said kindergarten registration opens Jan. 5 and that winter recess runs Dec. 24 through Jan. 2, with schools reopening Jan. 5.
On the budget calendar, the superintendent said budget overview work begins in January with meetings through February, March and April and a public budget hearing and vote scheduled for May 19, 2026. He said the district and architects are completing paperwork with the state related to the voter-approved bond, and that preparatory site work—soil borings and core cuts—has been performed. "If you saw some big machines on campus and some markings on the ground, that's part of the bond project," he said.
On elementary capital work, Dr. Cristioni said Univents ordered for gym HVAC are arriving ahead of schedule and are expected to be installed over the Christmas break; some unanticipated electrical work required temporary relocations of activities to accommodate the work. He also reported that a circulator pump was replaced so the back gym would have functioning heat when school resumes.
The superintendent closed by reminding the community the budget season begins in January and encouraging public participation in upcoming meetings.
