Summary
The Board approved 2026 behavioral-health grant awards recommended by the San Miguel Behavioral Health Solutions panel, funding providers across the county including Norwood Public Schools, Tri-County Health Network, Uncompahgre Medical Center and others. The motion passed unanimously.
San Miguel County commissioners voted Jan. 7 to approve the 2026 behavioral-health grant awards as recommended by the San Miguel Behavioral Health Solutions panel.
Carrie Brock, the panel's administrator, explained the panel's role in reviewing grant applications and preparing contracts for county signature. "I'm just here in the case that you have any questions or comments you'd like to share and I can take those back to the panel," Brock said.
The board reviewed the slate of awards during the meeting. County staff read the main grant awards into the record: $3,375 for survivors of outdoor accidents and recovery; $186,934 to Norwood Public Schools for behavioral-health services; $91,973 to Tri-County Health Network for behavioral-health services; $19,348 to the San Miguel Resource Center; $8,050 to Gathering Green; $151,765 to Uncompahgre Medical Center for behavioral-health services; $128,093 to the Telluride School District for counseling and mental-health services; $5,000 to 1-to-1 mentoring; and $30,000 to the Tyre Medical Center for behavioral-health services. Commissioners expressed gratitude to the volunteer panel for its review work.
Commissioner motioned to approve the entire packet of awards as presented; the motion was seconded and passed by unanimous voice vote.
County staff and the panel will prepare contracts for the awardees and route them for signatures. Brock asked commissioners to forward any technical questions to her so the panel can address them prior to contracting.
