Board elects officers, updates committee memberships and moves to executive session on staff appointments

During new business the board completed officer elections, adjusted committee membership and approved an executive session for medical staff appointments.

Board members nominated and elected officers for one-year terms. A board member nominated Jared Cook for president and the nomination was seconded; the board voiced approval. Cindy (name variants in the transcript) was nominated and seconded for vice president and was approved by voice vote. Marlene Cushing was nominated and seconded for secretary and likewise approved.

The board then reviewed committee appointments across quality improvement, long-term care, infection control, critical-access hospital, resource, joint conference, foundation, community engagement, evaluation, bylaws and advisory committees, and discussed committee sizes and the steering committee’s ad-hoc status. Several members volunteered or confirmed standing on specific committees; the chair suggested the bylaws committee could review committee composition if the board wished.

Finally, the chair called for a motion to go into executive session to consider medical staff appointments and reappointments; a motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

Next steps: terms begin upon adjournment; staff will proceed with executive-session business on appointments and reappointments; bylaws committee may review rules on committee composition if requested.
