Principal Jody Poole said Ashley Tremaine wrote the grant and shepherded the project; two vendors responded to the district’s RFP. After evaluating proposals and negotiating price and scope, district staff recommended Baja (a regional construction firm) as the preferred contractor. Poole emphasized the grant-funded project is important to the school’s FFA curriculum and asked the board to approve the next steps so the project can proceed.
Poole noted the team negotiated to bring the bid in line with the grant and local expectations. No final contract award language or construction start date was recorded in the Aug. 5 transcript; Poole requested board approval tonight to move forward with the selected vendor.
If approved, staff indicated the project will proceed to the implementation phase under district procurement rules and with project oversight from school leadership.
